Editorial Guidelines
AfroBPM documents a fast-moving Afro House landscape. These guidelines keep our journalism trustworthy, inclusive, and accountable to the artists, promoters, and communities we cover.
Accuracy first
- Every factual claim is sourced from direct interviews, official statements, or verified documentation.
- Names, song titles, and release dates are double checked against label or artist supplied metadata.
- Speculation is clearly labeled as analysis or commentary, never presented as fact.
Inclusive coverage
- We actively seek voices across the African continent and diaspora, highlighting underrepresented regions.
- Content is edited for language that respects cultural context and avoids stereotypes.
- Photography and artwork credits are preserved wherever assets are published.
Clear separation of promo and editorial
- Sponsored activations are labeled and handled by a separate partnerships team.
- Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers or campaign spend.
- Writers must disclose conflicts of interest with labels, artists, or management.
Corrections policy
- If an error is identified, we update the article promptly and add a dated correction note.
- Major updates that materially change a story trigger a full re-publish with editor approval.
- Readers can request corrections by emailing editorial@afrobpm.com with cited references.
